Roy Brown was an American R&B singer/songwriter and musician, born on September 10, 1925 in New Orleans, Louisiana.    He was influential in the early development of rock and roll music, with artists such as Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis and Pat Boone covering his music.  His vocal style also influenced artists like Bobby Bland, B.B.King and Little Richard.

Roy Brown died of a heart attack on May 25, 1981 at the age of 55.
